Ben Giles Architecture | Responsive Website

Project goal & challenge

Ben Giles is a successful architect from Sydney, Australia whose work I admire very much. After inspecting his current portfolio website I felt like the site didn't do his great skill as an architect  justice. As a little side project I created a new concept for the desktop site, which could easily be translated into a mobile version. Since this was an unsolicited redesign of the architect's current site, there were no requirements from the client, but my design relied on my own assessment of the existing site. Ways to improve the current website could – in my eyes – include:

  • Making the site responsive
  • Highlighting the architect's professional qualifications and memberships
  • Better showcasing portfolio projects
  • Adding a contact form

With my redesign I wanted to alleviate some of the issues mentioned above and create a better user experience (UX) for potential clients.

My process

After inspecting and assessing the architect's current site, I created wireframe sketches. I then moved into Sketch to develop high-fidelity prototypes. The final site was built using the Webflow CMS. During the built I made some minor visual design changes to improve the overall layout and added subtle animations to the landing page.
